Sara Lee Hess will serve as showrunner along with Miguel Sapochnik. The two will write the pilot which Sapochnik will direct. Sapochnik was behind the camera on what many consider to be some of the best episodes of Game of Thrones including “Battle of the Bastards,” “The Winds of Winter,” “Hardhome,” as well as controversial, “The Long Night.” Sapochnik will also direct the pilot which will be written by Martin and Condal.
A big Game of Thrones fan, I am really excited for this highly-anticipated series. I think the Targaryens are the more interesting of the available houses. Their conquests and dragons should provide more than enough entertainment. The Lannisters could provide interesting content as well, though they have some unusual family traditions, not that the Targaryens aren’t guilty or the same, but they at least have the dragons. The Starks, who I think are the best people as far as morally, would oddly enough be third of the list for me.
