House of the Dragon: Meet Daemon Targaryen’s Dragon, Caraxes

Former Doctor Who actor Matt Smith was recently cast as in HBO‘s Game of Thrones spin-off series, House of the Dragon. Smith will play Daemon Targaryen. The younger brother of King Viserys Targaryen, and heir to the throne. Recently, some concept art for the upcoming series was released giving us a sneak peek at what the dragons might look like on the show.

The concept art showed dragons that were and very different from the ones we saw on Game of Thrones. But in a good way. Now, Matt Smith has shared an image of his dragon, named Caraxes. And I must say this is my favorite so far. You can check it out down below.

DRACARYS!

Those eyes are something else, aren’t they? And what a cool name, Caraxes. I think House of the Dragon was the right choice. The other Game of Thrones spin-off, Bloodmoon, I just don’t feel viewers would have taken to it the same way they will to a series about Targaryens.

If House of the Dragon turns out to be a success, it will likely pave the way for more spin-off series.

After the eighth season of Game of Thrones, I am more than ready to revisit Westeros. I just hope the same fate suffered by Game of Thrones doesn’t befall House of the Dragon. It felt as if Benioff and Weiss were simply tired of making the show. Even if that was the case, come on guys, you have to power through. Someday I would love to one day ask Benioff and Weiss some questions about it, in a respectable manner of course, and just sort of see what their mindset was back then because I simply cannot comprehend what happened.

What do you think of Caraxes? Let us know in the comments down below!
