This Fool series on Hulu streaming service proved to be one of the hilarious near-all Latino comedies this year that stars Chris Estrada, Frankie Quinones, Michael Imperioli, and Michelle Ortiz.

With this comedic ensemble, the series follows the lives of two relatives’ relationships with each other, family, ex-girlfriend, and a rehabilitation center for ex-cons.

This Fool is an irrelevant, cinematic half-hour comedy set in working-class South Central Los Angeles. The show centers around Julio Lopez, a 30-year-old who still lives at home, has been dating his girlfriend on and off since high school, and finds any excuse to avoid dealing with his problems. Julio works at Hugs Not Thugs, a gang rehabilitation non-profit, where he butts heads with his older cousin Luis, an ex-gang member who just got out of prison and moved in with Julio and his family.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actress Michelle Ortiz, who plays the on-and-off girlfriend of the lead character Julio. We talked about this mostly Latino cast with incredibly relatable and funny plotlines in South Central of Los Angeles.

Michelle Ortiz was best known for being a series regular on The CW’s revival of MADtv with her characters and skits portraying Kim Kardashian, Melania Trump, Sofia Vergara, and Dora the Explorer. Her other credits included ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, Vudo’s Mr. Mom, and Netflix’s Gentefied. Also, she appeared in Life in Pieces, Mom, B Positive, Tacoma FD, and Mr. Corman. On the video game side, she lent her voice to the iconic games of Star Wars: Squadrons and Star Wars: The Old Republic—Legacy of the Sith.

The first season of This Fool is currently streaming on Hulu.
