I, Challenger | Tina Majorino On Seeing A Person’s Potential [Exclusive Interview]

I, Challenger from Strike Back Studios is now available on all TVOD/Digital Platforms. This stoner buddy comedy is one that audiences can enjoy whether you like to smoke (or however you ingest it). What makes it accessible is that a lot of the comedy is grounded. Also, it helps that the main character Sid, played by James Duval, is likable as director Paul Boyd does a great job at giving us good reasons throughout the film as to why we should like him. You can check out the trailer for the feature film down below!

In I, Challenger Duval is joined by a great supporting cast that allows his character to shine. One specifically that we are going to spotlight is Tina Majorino’s Vanessa. She works at the dispensary where Sid regularly shops. She is a confident woman that can seemingly look beyond that basic stoner/gamer look that Sid puts forth. Throughout the film, we see how through conversations she helps Sid grow and allows us to see the person that she had seen the whole time.

With the release of I, Challenger, LRM Online‘s Emmanuel Gomez spoke with Tina Majorino about her role in the film. In our conversation, she describes her character and why she is able to be so perceptive about Sid. She shares with us her thoughts on the comedy of the film and how it’s accessible to all. As well as her love for indie projects and how they can be so therapeutic to what an actor/filmmaker is going through at the time. It was a fabulous conversation that you can check out down below!

Here is the synopsis for Strike Back Studios’ I, Challenger

“I, Challenger” follows Sid (James Duval), a perennial kid who spends his days playing video games and selling weed but is about to be evicted. Desperate to change his life he enlists his gaming buddy, Logan (Coy Stewart) in a dangerous, hair-brained, scheme involving the livestream of Sid being buried alive for 24 hours. At first it seems Sid’s luck is finally on the upswing with a financial windfall and even a romance with his favorite cannabis dispensary clerk (Tina Majorino).  But then a disastrous near-death experience when the self-burial misfires will change everything.
