We’ve all seen a good post-apocalyptic story. Some crazy thing has eradicated most of the world’s population, and they must now survive this new landscape, occasionally coming across some ne’er do wells who threaten their very lives. Quite often, they are in constant search of companionship and find strength in the company of others.
Not so for this upcoming film I Think We’re Alone Now, which stars Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning. The film is directed by Reed Morano, director and executive producer of The Handmaid’s Tale, and as such, it comes with a fittingly bleak and quiet tone. But what else sets this bad boy apart? Well, that difference can really be summed up in this logline:
“The apocalypse proves a blessing in disguise for one lucky recluse — until a second survivor arrives with the threat of companionship.”
Knowing this going into the teaser from Bloody Disgusting really helps paint a unique picture. What would happen if a man’s happy solitary existence is threatened by an inquisitive woman? I don’t know about you, but this is an interesting conflict I want to see play out.
