Idris Elba Reportedly in Talks To Replace Will Smith As Deadshot In Suicide Squad

We recently learned that Will Smith is out as Deadshot in the upcoming Suicide Squad film that is to be brought to us by James Gunn. Smith had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. Today we learn sources tell Variety that Idris Elba is now in talks to replace smith as Deadshot.

Well, if Smith isn’t going to return as the chracter I see can think of no one better to replace him than Idris Elba. More likely than not, if a star on the level of Elba in in talks, there’s a good chance he is going to sign on, and official word should soon come down.

As most of you know James Gunn brought fans the first two films of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but was fired fired from the third film as decade old tweets of his surfaced that were deemed inappropriate. Not long ago, Gunn snagged the job for the upcoming Suicide Squad and seems to be revamping the 2016 version. Hopefully Gunn can work the same magic with Suicide Squad that he did with Guardians of the Galaxy, as that is my favorite Marvel franchise. The film is set for a 2021 release date.
