In one of the most anticipated summer movies this year, Top Gun: Maverick kicks off the blockbuster summer on May 27th with great confidence.
Fandango announced the start of advance tickets for the Tom Cruise-starring feature film sequel with a release of the new IMAX poster on its Fandango.com and social channels.
“Top Gun: Maverick is the perfect summer blockbuster,” said Fandango managing editor Erik Davis in a press release. “The flying sequences are intense and incredibly entertaining, with Tom Cruise and cast at the top of their game with heart-pounding stunts. It’s an emotional, visceral thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat.”

The rest of the cast included Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris and Val Kilmer. Joseph Kosinski directed the film from the story by Peter Craig and Justin Marks with the screenplay from Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie.
Here’s the official synopsis:
After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOP GUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”
Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.
Top Gun: Maverick makes its debut in theaters Friday, May 27th.
