Indiana Jones 5 Is Filming At Bamburgh Castle In England

According to a local Northumberland newspaper, Indiana Jones 5 is filming at Bamburgh Castle in the North of England. However, this handily made YouTube video below details what little we know so far.

The Castle is being set up for filming as you can see. We even get a look at a prop for the movie, what appears to be a throne of sorts. (Edit: This ‘prop’ was actually a real item from the Castle as per the video’s creator in comments below.) However, as you’ve probably already guessed, Ford and the rest of the cast needed for filming in this location have not yet arrived. Bamburgh Castle is pretty impressive as British castles go, of which there is many. Though, whilst this seems like a great location to shoot Indiana Jones 5, it doesn’t hint at plot.

The presenter on the video above suggests rumor of an Arthurian plot. Though I’m not sure where that information is coming from, because those are not rumors I have seen anywhere? (Edit: Video creator says this was purely speculative in comments below.) The only solid rumors we have had so far are around Mads Mikkelsen’s role in the movie. You can read up on that in the related article below.

Apparently the shoot is due to take place week commencing June 7th and the Castle will be closed to the public for that period of time. That would I think mean this is not a location where many, many scenes are being shot. Going by recent Andor shoots in various U.K. locations, a week of shooting ends up feeling like about 5 minutes of run time. Though, that’s partly guess work, so I could be wrong.

I am therefore unsure of the presenter in the video’s assertion that this could be for the finale. I don’t think there is anyway to land on that for now. All we can say for certain is this. Indiana Jones 5 is filming finally next week in Bamburgh Castle. We also know for a fact that Harrison Ford is in England ready to start as he has been visiting some places of interest and getting snapped in England. I’m a little bit excited, but I also still feel like the time to make more Indy films was back in the 90’s.

Leave any Indy thoughts you have below as always.
