Indiana Jones 5 Production Set For August 2021 Start

The fifth Indiana Jones film, and what is likely the last time star Harrison Ford will don the fedora, has finally set August 2021 as a date to begin production. James Mangold is on board to direct the film which has wen through a number of personnel changes, including both writers and directors.

The film has gone through four release dates, originally supposed to hit theaters in July of 2019 but is now set for July 29, 2022. Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy return to produce and the iconic John Williams will score the film. So currently we are looking at about a year and a half until Indy rides again.  Not much is known about the film. However, all I need to know is that Harrison Ford will once again appear as the famed adventurous archeologist.

The franchise is one of my favorites, they’re very comforting for me as I watched them probably hundreds of times as a child. With Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade being in a never-ending trade-off for my top spot. I can’t decide, it usually depends on which one I last watched.

Now, upon a somewhat recent rewatch, I have come to see Temple of Doom in a different way. I always enjoyed it, but it was steadily number three on my list, and it still is. However, the gap between the top spots is much smaller than it used to be. As for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I don’t hate it nearly as much as most fans, but it is definitely at the bottom of my list.
