The question we are asking today, is Michelle Yeoh in Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings? Her casting has not been widely reported anywhere, but it seems the answer to that question is, yes. Yeoh posted on Instagram that she was feeling wimpy about her Coronavirus test. Yeoh was getting this test in Sydney, Australia. Not only that, but confirmed Shang-Chi cast members Simu Liu and Awkwafina both commented on the post. Check it out.
It seems there are some vague rumors kicking about that Yeoh could be playing the mother of Awkwafina’s character in the movie. If we put this all together it appears highly likely that Yeoh is in Shang-Chi. We know Shang-Chi is expected to get back underway very soon, in Australia. The Star Trek: Discovery actress is therefore most likely being tested before being allowed on set. This process is something most actors, sports people and related background staff are going through.

Yeoh is pretty famous for fighting scenes, one only has to look at Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for evidence of her proficiency. With the Kung-Fu focus in Shang-Chi, Yeoh would be perfect for a number of roles I imagine. Interestingly, thanks to a recent photo taken, and a few other rumors, it is believed Ronny Chieng is also appearing in Shang-Chi. There is no hint of who the Crazy, Rich Asians star could be playing, but Chieng is so versatile it could be anything at this point. Once production does kick off, we may get some actual confirmation of the casting not yet reported by the trades. As always, during production is usually when we start to find out a little about the movie. However, Marvel Studios are the best in the business at secrecy. Even Black Widow still has a hell of a lot of mystery surrounding it, and that’s been shown to test audiences.
