With Black Widow getting its final trailer yesterday, we probably won’t wait long for an Eternals trailer. Once the final promotional push is on for an MCU movie like Black Widow, usually we begin to get a first look at the next MCU movie on the horizon. That next movie is of course Eternals, which releases this November.
Usually, we would expect a teaser of a trailer. A teaser that does not reveal too much, but gets us fans all speculating. According to scooper Daniel Richtman, that trailer has already been cut. Richtman has given a brief description of the Eternals trailer on his Patreon service. Here is roughly what Richtman says, paraphrased.
The trailer features a lot of set shots with very little dialogue. The trailer is split equally between time periods (fans know Eternals will cover a long period of time). Eternals’ stars will also be seen both dressed in civilian clothing, and their superhero outfits. Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman will be seen suited up as Black Knight and he will be seen riding a horse. Though Gemma Chan’s Sersi and Harington’s Black Knight are the film’s leads (apparently), the trailer focuses on Angelina Jolie’s Thena and Richard Madden’s Ikaris.

I can’t speak to the accuracy of this description, though Richtman has a strong hit rate for this kind of detail. If the Eternals trailer ends up being very similar to this, let’s just say I would not be surprised.
Have to say, I’m still not sure that Dane Whitman is an ‘Eternal’? Whitman was not an ‘Eternal’ in the comics, that’s for sure. Is Black Knight just a fellow immortal who came across the Eternals in the past? Marvel Studios is known to make many changes from the comic book origin
The Eternals trailer’s release date is still unknown at this time. One would imagine it will not be long. I would imagine that Eternals will be playing in front of Black Widow, though that movie doesn’t open till April. I’ll guess we will see the Eternals trailer earlier than that, but who knows for sure at this point?
