It’s A Wonderful Knife | Tyler MacIntyre on Turning a Classic Xmas Story into a Slasher Film

It’s a Wonderful Life is one of the most beloved Christmas family films of the season. Now we can add It’s a Wonderful Knife as a cult horror favorite for the season.

It’s a Wonderful Knife turned the classic Frank Capras film on its head with a familiar plot of a young woman who must realize her life if she didn’t exist to stop a serial killer in a small town.

The film stars Justin Long (Barbarian), Joel McHale (Community), Jane Widdop (Yellowjackets), Katherine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps), Jess McLeod (One of Us is Lying), and Cassandra Naud (Influencer). Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls; V/H/S/99) directed the film from the screenplay written by Michael Kennedy (Freaky).

Here is the full synopsis:

In It’s A Wonderful Knife, a year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers’ life is less than wonderful—but when she wishes she’d never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe and discovers that without her, things could be much, much worse. Now the killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and get back to her own reality. It’s a Wonderful Life by way of Scream.
