To win $156 million in a lottery may be more trouble than one actually think.

In the thriller Your Lucky Day, a group of people in a convenience story must make life or death decisions after a robbery gone awry for a winning grand prize lottery ticket.

The film stars Angus Cloud (Euphoria) in one of his last performances. It also stars Jessica Garza (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, The Purge), Elliot Knight (Color Out of Space, American Gothic), Sterling Beaumon (The Killing, Lost), Mousa Hussein Kraish (The Day the Earth Stood Still, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan), Spencer Garrett (Yes Men, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Daniel Brown directed and wrote the film.

Here is the full synopsis:

It’s a breath away from Christmas and six strangers have converged at a convenience store: the store owner, a wealthy man, pregnant couple, criminal, and rookie cop. Together, they witness the wealthy man win $156 million in the lottery. At gunpoint the criminal demands the winning ticket. The cop tries to stop the robbery, he shoots first—accidentally killing the wealthy man. In the ensuing confusion, the criminal takes out the cop.

The criminal persuades the group to join him in a pact. Money for a cover-up. But they have failed to notice that the cop is still alive.

The cop contacts his father, himself an ex-cop, who enlists his former partners, to help save his son and steal the winning ticket for themselves. A showdown is coming. Who will survive? And how far will all of them go to become a millionaire?

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with writer/director Daniel Brown and actress Jessica Garza on the story, challenges, the characters, and working with Angus Cloud.

Daniel wrote and directed the short film Your Luck Day back in 2010. In 2013, he directed and wrote the film Color TV No Vacancy.

Jessica Garza is best known for her role in the horror action film The Purge as Penelope Guerrero and in the supernatural series Penny Dreadful: City of Angeles as Josefina Vega. She made appearances on television that included A.P. Bio, Modern Family, Sweet/Vicious, and NCIS.

Your Lucky Day is in select theaters on Friday, November 10^th. It follows with a digital release on Tuesday, November 14^th.
