Jack Black announced that a sequel to the 2006 film, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, is on its way. The comedic actor didn’t reveal much more than that while speaking at the Shaky Knees Music Festival. That’s right, JB and KG will continue rocking out in an all-new adventure.
“I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out.”

The original film starred both Jack Black and Kyle Gass, and followed the story of a guitar pick that was forged from the devil’s tooth, and gave rock guitarists the ability to play face-melting solos. Kyle Gass is actually a fantastic guitar player and Jack Black has a great voice and natural stage presence, so a sequel should work out just fine. The two wrote the first film and it will be interesting to see what they’ll cook up this time and where the story may lead them.
With Jack Black being stingy on the details, he has left it up to us fans to speculate what will spark the duo’s next journey. Could it be a paid of enchanted drumsticks? An amp with unlimited volume levels? Hopefully in the near future we will get some more information on this project.
