James Gunn Begins Production Quarantine For HBO Max’s Peacemaker

Peacemaker

In the words of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, “and here we go”. HBO Max is getting set to start shooting one of the most improbable series to date. The John Cena led Peacemaker series by James Gunn. Back in September, the announcement of the eight-episode series took everyone by surprise. Even more surprising was the fact that WarnerMedia gave it a straight-to-order series. We first got a look at the character at the first DC FanDome event in August.

Over the weekend, writer and director for some of the episodes, Gunn announced that he was going into a mandatory two-week production quarantine in Canada. He did this by flexing on social media the gift that he had just received from Microsoft. You can check them out below!

That’s right, the man that is juggling a DC and Marvel film as well as a television show, was gifted an XBox Series X. Even with the two-week mandatory production quarantine, will he have time to enjoy the new console? It’s interesting that even as we wait for Cena’s Peacemaker’s debut, they are moving full steam ahead on the spin-off series.

Peacemaker will be executively produced by Gunn and Peter Safran. Cena is going to also serve as a co-executive producer. Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company are involved with the series with Warner Bros. Television. Currently, the plot of the series is being kept under wraps.

It was always important for Gunn to get started right away. This is because he wanted to get this project done before he went on to work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Their commitment to this series really sets the bar high for Cena’s Peacemaker. What expectations do you guys have for the villain? Let us know in the comment section below!

Warner Bros.’ The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled for August 6th, 2020.
