Could This Fan Have Solved The Mystery Of How The Joker Killed Robin In The DCEU?

The Joker

Is this how the Joker killed Robin in the DCEU?

As for late, there has been a little bit of a spotlight on the death of Robin, aka Jason Todd. It was a subject of analysis in Batman: The Three Jokers by Geoff Johns. As well as in the Batman story arc, Joker War by James Tynion IV. Also a few weeks ago Warner Bros. Animation released the feature film Batman: Death in the Family. Which of course is the classic story about how the Boy Wonder ended up in the hands of the Joker. Of course, all of these stories end up with Jason becoming the fan-favorite Red Hood. But there is one storyline where this is a lot different. Of course, it’s a whole different story in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe.

This past June we found out from Snyder that in his Universe, the Joker killed Dick Grayson, not Jason Todd. Which for a lot of comic book fans is a problem as Dick Grayson is supposed to go on and become Nightwing. In some storylines, he even goes on to take on the role of Batman. But of course what else can we expect from the filmmaker that killed Jimmy Olsen in the first scene of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice?

Zack Snyder Killed The Wrong Robin In The DCEU

Due to things not working out with a few of the DC films, we know that we really never got a backstory or continuing story on the events of the death of Grayson. All we had seen was the vandalized Robin suit that Bruce Wayne keeps in the Batcave. While there was no confirmation on what the official story is supposed to be, a “like” by Synder on a fan’s theory has many thinking that they may have figured out what happened to Robin. Robin’s Death Fan Theory

In this fan theory we see that like in the traditional story, Joker beats Robin and then proceeds to burn him alive. Where this theory gets interesting is that it claims that Joker burned Robin at Wayne Manor. This is the reason that the iconic mansion appears decrepit in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Also that if that is the case, then the Joker probably knows the identity of Batman. But that he keeps it a secret because he doesn’t want their twisted back and forth relationship to end with him.

This is a very good theory that would fit in a dark Snyder type film. As critical as many were with Jared Leto’s Joker, it is a shame that we didn’t get to see more of him. It will be interesting to see if he does indeed end up returning for a few shots in the Snyder Cut of Justice League as it has been speculated. Also if so, then are they going to maybe have a flashback scene? I guess we’ll have to wait and see when it drops on HBO Max early next year. Which if you think about it, is not that far off.
