Well, you all better brace yourselves for this one, as we finally know what title of the third installment into the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will be …wait for it…Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The title was confirmed by James Gunn himself via his Twitter account. Twitter user Vitor Oliveira, who pitched his own suggestion for the upcoming film’s title to Gunn in a tweet, received a reply from the director, reassuring us all of the official title.

I doubt the choice of title surprises anyone, but it’s good to get confirmation and know for sure. While the .mp3 title for the third Guardians film is pretty clever and would be very fitting considering Peter Quill was gifted a Zune at the end of Guardians 2, and that the music plays such a huge role in the Guardians films. With that said, I am glad Gunn is sticking to the established pattern.

Guardians franchise is my favorite of the current ones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only are they comic book heroes, but they’re an awesome sci-fi space crew as well, not quite as cool as Han and Chewy, but definitely cooler than Kirk and Spock.
