James Gunn confirms the shooting schedule for Peacemaker Season 2 and says he won’t direct all episodes of Season 2, oh and Season 1 is not canon. This all started by Peacemaker actress Jennifer Holland stating online that Peacemaker Season 2 was due to begin filming this Summer. Here was Gunn’s response on social media network Threads.
“The source is kind of iffy but this is true (laugh emoji). John Cena shared this on Howard Stern last week. To answer your follow-up questions: yes, we’ll be shooting Superman & Peacemaker simultaneously; yes, I’ve written all the episodes; but, no, in the interest of getting the show out there I won’t be able to direct them all (only some); & yes, Waller’s still happening & Jeremy & Christal are hard at work writing great stuff, but the schedule was impacted by the strikes so it’ll come after Peacemaker.”
Of course Gunn is joking about Holland as the source because they are married and therefore she as his spouse and an actor on the shoe is likely to know such information. I also theorised last week that Gunn would not be able to direct all of Peacemaker Season 2. I was right that he will direct some, but not all.

Secondly we also have confirmation from Gunn to his fans that Peacemaker Season 1 is no longer canon. That took place in the DCEU whereas Peacemaker Season 2 takes place in the DCU. How that will effect things, I have genuinely no idea? Gunn was asked where Peacemaker Season 2 falls in the timeline, to which he replied it fits right after Superman and before Waller. A fan then asked what that means for Season 1 and Gunn said “Season 1 is no longer canon.”
So… All that character development did not happen? Or will we just assume something very similar happened in this Universe? It’s a bit of a tricky one to get our heads round.
