While the film Clue wasn’t exactly a critical darling upon its release back in 1985, it has had quite the life on home video, garnering plenty of fans who enjoyed the mix of goofy humor and old-school murder mystery. In fact, it’s one of those films that many are worried could be “ruined” by a remake — but it sounds like they may already be on the right track.
Ryan Reynold was previously attached to Clue as a producer last year, but they now have their second man in Jason Bateman, who will co-star and direct. Bateman is fresh off his Emmy win for Ozark, so I’m sure studio faith in him is at an all-time high.

Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were hired last year to write the screenplay. There’s no update on its progress, but with Bateman in talks to direct…I can only imagine it’s gone pretty well.
