Jason Clarke In Talks To Head Pet Sematary Remake

Hey, have you had enough Stephen King yet? Well, that’s too damn bad, because we’ll be getting these adaptations until long after we’re all dead. One of the dozens of projects in the works is the remake of one of the King’s more beloved novels, Pet Sematary. We have known about this project for a while now, but THR has some new details.

According to the trade outlet, actor Jason Clarke is in negotiations to star in the flick. The actor has been in more projects than I can name, but he has gained recognition in recent years for films like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Zero Dark Thirty, and Everest. Even more recently, he dabbled in a bit of poor with be haunted house movie Winchester, where he starred alongside Helen Mirren (though that movie was a massive dud).

Jason Clarke will be playing the character of Louis Creed, a doctor who moves with his family out into the country from the big city. But their home is near a pet cemetery, and as you probably have guessed, this pet cemetery is no normal pet cemetery, and Lewis and his family we’ll learn that sometimes some things should be left dead.

Starry Eyes directing duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch are set to direct this new adaptation. What do you think of Jason Clarke joining the film? Let us know your thoughts down below!
