Very soon, production will begin on Kevin Smith’s latest flim, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. As the title indicates, it will be meta as all hell, and will feature Jay and Silent Bob once again becoming the subject of a new Hollywood film. In a world of reboots, this is a movie that makes total sense and it’s kind of perfect that Smith’s career has allowed him to make this kind of meta happen in his films.

And, true to the idea of older movies and franchises having large fan bases, it looks like this movie will have more Jay and Silent Bob than anyone can handle. Smith just put out an Instagram post calling for background actors…dressed up as Jay and Silent Bob. That’s right, if you’re one to cosplay as Jay or Silent Bob, you too can be in Smith’s next film. Here’s what he wrote in the post.

“WANNA BE IN MY MOVIE?!? Next month, we shoot @jayandsilentbob Reboot! This time, the boys try to stop Hollywood from rebooting the old Bluntman & Chronic Movie (the “bluntastic” flick that starred @biggsjason & @vanderjames)! In the flick, we’ve got a convention scene that requires lots of @jayandsilentbob themed extras! So I’m inviting you to join us AS those extras! I’m looking for all sorts #jayandsilentbob cosplayers of every gender, race or nationality, as well as creative variations of Jay & Bob too: like steampunk Jay & Bob, Jedi Jay & Bob, Rick & Morty Jay & Bob, Bat-Jay & Bob, Ape Jay & Bob, Zombie Jay & Bob, Furry Jay & Bob, etc! The funnier or the more fucked-up (within reason and without harming yourself or others), the likelier you’ll get featured in our shots! If you ever wanted to get screen time in one of my dopey flicks, there won’t be a better chance than this!”

Sounds like it could be fun, though I also kinda hope Smith’s tendency to fall in love with his own ideas doesn’t hamper the quality of the film, but what the hell, I know I’ll probably see it anyway, even if it is terrible (I mean, I watched Yoga Hosers).

Also, in the post, they also revealed the logo for the film, which features the duo in the “O” as well as a Star Wars-esque “Reboot” font.
