Jeffrey Dean Morgan To Return To Supernatural As John Winchester

For longtime fans of the CW network’s Supernatural, the time has finally come. Yep, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan who is known throughout the fandom as the father of Sam and Dean, John Winchester, is finally making a long overdue return to the series. Morgan will appear on the show’s historic 300th episode on February 7 of next year, the network announced yesterday.

Fans have seen many characters return to the show over the years, but John Winchester is probably the one they wanted to see return the most. A few seasons ago, the Winchester brothers were gifted the return of their mother, Mary, who has been a big part of the show ever since. However, some fans always felt it should have been John that returned.

Executive producer Andrew Dabb had this to say on the matter:

“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other guest stars.”

As most fans know, the show was all set to end at five seasons, which was the original plan from creator Eric Kripke. The series proved to be far too popular to end at that point and now has become one of the longest-running scripted shows in history.
