As film fans, it’s really easy to live in our own little bubbles. Because we enjoy the stories we see on screen so much, we tend to surround ourselves with people who enjoy it as much as we do. As such, it’s easy for us to forget that we’re freaks of nature that know way too much about movies and that we shouldn’t judge other people who don’t know the same amount of trivia as us.
But there is NO excuse for the contestants on Jeopardy. These are people who devote large swaths of their lives to knowing the unknowable. To acting fast and learning the best strategies to coming out on top. And yet, in a recent episode, exactly zero of the contestants knew one of Hollywood’s biggest rising stars.

Yeah, that’s pretty hard for me to watch as a fan of movies. Two of the contestants incorrectly believed that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire looked young enough to be on the screen, so I don’t even know what to say.
