John Boyega Says He’s Moved On From The Star Wars Franchise

Having seen him in Attack the Block, I was excited when I heard that John Boyega had been cast in Disney’s new Star Wars sequel trilogy. While I think Boyega did well with the character he was given to play in Finn, the trilogy was a mess in my opinion and through no fault of Boyega’s was mediocre overall.

It seems Boyega has no plans to return to a galaxy far, far away, and clarified as much when a fan Instagram mentioned he wanted to see Boyega dressed in all black wielding a green lightsaber in the next Star Wars film. You can check out his response below.

Boyega has previously expressed his issues with the sequel trilogy. He believes the first film, The Force Awakens was a solid beginning. However, he was not on board with a lot of decisions made in The Last Jedi. I am in agreeance with Mr. Boyega there. The Force Awakens was nothing spectacular, but I think J.J. Abrams put down some nice, albeit, safe groundwork for those that followed to build upon.

I found The Last Jedi, to put it simply, insulting. It is my belief had Disney given Boyega a better Finn to work with, he may have a different outlook on returning to the franchise. I think Finn could have been so much more, but it at times felt like the character was wanting to step to another level, but was held back.
