Kate Beckinsale certainly has some form of bipolar issue in the upcoming film Jolt.
She plays a beautiful woman, who experiences rage issues that she needs to keep under control by injecting small amounts of electric charge to calm her down. In a certain twist, she must unleash her anger for revenge after the love of her life was murdered.
The film also stars Bobby Cannavale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox, David Bradley, Ori Pfeffer, Susan Sarandon, and Stanley Tucci. Tanya Wexler directed the movie from a script written by Scott Wascha.
Here’s the official synopsis for Jolt:
Lindy is a beautiful, sardonically-funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day. Heartbroken and enraged, she embarks on a revenge-filled mission to find his killer, while also being pursued by the police as the crime’s prime suspect.

Amazon Studios releases the film for streaming on Amazon Prime starting Friday, July 23.
Kate Beckinsale established herself as a bonafide female action hero with the Underworld series. It has been a while since she appeared in an action role since 2016’s Underworld: Blood Wars. I’m glad to see she hasn’t missed a step in action sequences with her smooth hand-to-hand combat techniques. Put me down as a summer flick to watch at home.
