Jordan Peele Sent Us Scissors To Kevin Smith

On Christmas Day, comedy-actor-turned-filmmaker Jordan Peele released the trailer for the film Us, his highly anticipated follow up to his Oscar-winning “social thriller” Get Out. Starring Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Elizabeth Moss, Peele delivered an intense, horrifying and visually mesmerizing peak at what is bound to be one of the most talked-about films of 2019. Moreover, he found a way to take one of the most recognizable and popular West Coast hip-hop songs of the ’90s (“I Got 5 On It” by Luniz) and transformed it into an eerie, chilling, anxiety-rising horror score. As a fan of the song, this writer will never hear it the same way again. If you haven’t seen it yet, click on this link below:

As a special gift to friends and colleagues of his, Peele sent special collector’s edition models of the scissors that appear in the film. One of those is fellow filmmaker and nerdy king, Silent Bob himself, Kevin Smith. Smith was excited by the gift and shared his praise for the trailer with Peele on Twitter, mentioning him in his message. Additionally, Smith did say that he believes his model was mixed up with comedian/actor Kevin Hart’s model, since his note his directed to Hart. Check out the tweet below:
