The Twilight Zone originally aired from 1958 and concluded in 1964. It’s a show I remember watching in syndication with my dad numerous times. Jordan Peele reignited the show on March 31 of this year, and even though it is only five episodes old, the streaming company of CBS All Access has renewed the show for a second season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Julie McNamara, who is the Executive VP of Original Content for CBS All Access, stated:
“Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg’s reimagining of The Twilight Zone is off to an amazing start on CBS All Access, driving the most viewers on its premiere day for an original series to date. Jordan, Simon, the creative team and cast have done a phenomenal job translating the series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling for modern-day audiences. They are master storytellers, and we look forward to bringing fans further into The Twilight Zone with a second season.”
While it is unclear just how well the show is followed since CBS All Access doesn’t release that data currently, the show has had numerous impressive actors and actresses make appearances on the show. Jordan Peele also appears as the online narrator as Rod Serling did for the original series. Upcoming episodes will feature the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Zazie Beetz, Taissa Farmiga, Chris O’Dowd, Seth Rogen, Rhea Seehorn, Jessica Williams and DeWanda Wise, and many others.
