The man who has given us beloved classics such as Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is now teaming up with HBO on a new series. You heard that correctly, Joss Whedon has reached an agreement with the network to bring his new science fiction series, The Nevers to air. The show will follow a group of women in the Victorian age, who “find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.”
“The Nevers is maybe the most ambitious narrative I’ve created. It’s been too long since I created an entirely new fictional world.”
“We have long been fans of the incredibly talented and prolific Joss Whedon and we can’t think of a better project than The Nevers with which to welcome him to the HBO family. We look forward to meeting the strange, multifaceted characters, to learn their stories, see them in action and share them with our viewers.”

The premise is interesting enough, and I will give any show with the sci-fi label a chance, especially one that comes from Whedon, who has proven himself more than capable of giving us great television, as well as superhero movies worhty of their comicbook origin. Whedon is to wear many hats for the show as he is set to write, direct, and produce, as well as be the show-runner.
