Journey Into The Unknown With This Frozen 2 Disney+ Documentary (TRAILER)

Head into the unknown with this Frozen 2 documentary.

Disney+ has certainly started to find what they specialize in. They are not only the home for all things Disney, but they are the home for behind the scenes content. We’ve already seen what they can do with The Mandalorian in their Gallery series, but they aren’t stopping there. What if you could go behind the scenes of the biggest animated movie of all-time?

Luckily, Disney is giving us that opportunity and soon. A new trailer dropped earlier this week for Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2. As the title indicates, the doc will take us into the making of Frozen 2. More specifically, it will be giving us a peek into the final year of its production.

“It’s probably the toughest time in production, is a year out,” Frozen 2 director Chris Buck said. “It’s when all the balls are up in the year…and the balls start falling.”

Below is the official synopsis for Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2:

With the clock ticking and less than a year until the world premiere of Frozen 2, the filmmakers, artists, songwriters and cast open their doors to cameras for a six-part documentary series to reveal the hard work, heart, and collaboration it takes to create one of the most highly-anticipated films in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ near-century of moviemaking. For the first time, cameras were there to capture an eye-opening – and at times jaw-dropping – view of the challenges and the breakthroughs, the artistry, creativity and the complexity of creating the #1 animated feature of all time.

I’ll admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of Frozen 2. While the first one was a classic, the sequel felt flat and hollow. But that doesn’t mean I have any less respect for the hard work going into it. I’m still totally into the idea diving deep into the animation process of the film. However, I really hope they’ll let us see the rough edges of the process. The arguments, the clashes, and the insecurity. Disney has a tendency to let their docs turn into whitewashed compliment-fests. I want to real process. Please let this be it.
