Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 2 Teaser – The Kids Are NOT Alright

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is back for season 2!

It has not been the best of weeks when it comes to news from the Jurassic World franchise. First, we learned that the next film Jurassic World Dominion was going to push back their release a year to 2022. Then we also learned that their production had to be halted because of the Coronavirus. But in the words of Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm, “life finds a way”.

Last month we had the release of Netflix’s animated series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous from Dreamworks Animation. It was overall well received by Jurassic Park fans. I know that I gave it a B- in my overall review, while fellow LRMOnline contributor Nick Doll was very high on it. Regardless of that, the series did leave us on a huge cliffhanger that left us all wondering what would be the fate of these kids.

Lucky for us we won’t have to wait too long! Today Netflix released a teaser trailer for the second season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Although the exact release date was not specified, we do know that the second season will be released sometime in 2021. You can check out the teaser trailer above!

What is interesting about this second season is that it will no longer need to be mindful of the Jurassic World film. AS it goes forward beyond the events that took place in the film. So now we get to explore aspects of Isla Nublar that we hadn’t before. For Jurassic Park/World fans that is an exciting point as it’s fun to learn more about the failed theme park/zoo.

Here is the description released by Netflix for the series:

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive. Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky) and Aaron Hammersley (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness) serve as showrunners and executive producers.

The series is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Colin Trevorrow. The series features the voices of Paul-Mikél Williams (Westworld) as “Darius,” Jenna Ortega (You) as “Brooklynn,” Ryan Potter (Titans) as “Kenji,” Raini Rodriguez (Austin & Ally) as “Sammy,” Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) as “Ben” and Kausar Mohammed (Silicon Valley) as “Yaz.”
