Jurassic World: Dominion Is The Film Colin Trevorrow Has Been Waiting To Make

Colin Trevorrow is now and forever part of a much loved franchise in the Jurassic Park/World films. The director helmed the first Jurassic World film, and I back to close out the trilogy Jurassic World: Dominion. Also returning to the series are franchise favorites Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, who will make his second appearance in the Jurassic World trilogy as he appeared in Fallen Kingdom.

According to Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Dominion is the film he set out to make from the start and says that the returning icons of the franchise have a bigger role to play than fans might think.Trevorrow discussed this while speaking with Collider. You can check out what he had to say below.

“This is the movie that I’ve been waiting to make, from the beginning. It’s the one that we have spent the past two movies building to. It really was part of a larger story and part of the design. I think people may be underestimating the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum’s characters in this movie. It is very much an ensemble and that element and the ability to take these beloved characters from almost 30 years now, and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world that we’ve really never seen before and have not been able to witness until now is very exciting. I’m having the time of my life.”

As many of you are well aware of, the dinosaurs are loose, though Trevorrow has stated that encounters with humans will be rare. This should push the series toward its tension-building roots that border on the horror genre. I doubt any film in the franchise will ever surpass the original, but I have enjoyed these films and look forward to Jurassic World: Dominion hoping it will be a conclusion worthy of the franchise.

I wish Trevorrow would have stayed aboard Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy. His film was very different from the one fans received, The Rise of Skywalker, and would have been called Duel of the Fates, a reference to the prequel films.
