Here we go again. The Snyder Cut of Justice League is like your worst girlfriend in high school. One day you’re back together, the next you’re not, and the next after that, you’re not really sure where the two of you stand, and everyone else around you just gets confused and frustrated. That’s basically been the last two years, ever since Justice League hit theaters with a thick coat of Joss Whedon painted over it.
Ever since it was clear that we’d be getting a muddled vision crossed between Snyder, Whedon, and half a dozen Warner Bros. execs, fans have been calling for The Snyder Cut, a film that skewed closer to Snyder’s original vision. It would have payoffs to the Knightmare sequence in Batman v Superman, more of a time-travel element, a more intriguing overarching Darkseid villain, and a lead-in to Justice League 2.

The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement started gaining momentum recently, with Snyder himself, along with several actors, really pushing for it, but in recent days, Variety pointed out that such a cut was not likely. However, Snyder took to social media to give fans more hope.

So, what does this mean? Does Snyder know something we don’t? Is there actually momentum here? Or is he simply giving false hope to a fan who asked for it? We know that Snyder himself has only recently wrapped filming his new Netflix movie Army of the Dead, so is it possible he has something else in the works while in post on that film?
