Karen Gillan Has Read A Script For Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

One of the delights of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy didn’t have the best year. The franchise lost the driving force behind the films when writer and director James Gunn was relieved of his duties due to the resurfacing of years old tweets that many deemed offensive.

While the film is currently without a director, and production not moving forward, fans do have hopes that eventually the stars surrounding the third Guardians film will align and we will all see them on the big screen in a new adventure. While speaking to People, Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula within in the Guardians films (as well as appearing in other MCU films), mentioned a script for Guardians 3 does in fact exist.

“Our director won’t be with us any longer but we are excited to continue the Guardians of the Galaxy story and keep delivering to the fans. That’s the most important thing. I don’t have any details as to when (the next Guardians film will come out) but there’s a script in existence.”

There has been talks around the movie news world that it’s still possible Disney will use Gunn’s script for Vol. 3, but no official decision has been made. With no news of Disney hiring a new writer for the film, one has to assume the script Gillan read was written by Gunn, though she didn’t specify. The Guardians are my favorite MCU franchise, I hope things work out and the film can get back on track, get made, and get to the screen.
