Actor Karl Urban has played key roles in some of cinema’s most beloved franchises. He was Éomer in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He played Dr. Bones’ McCoy in the most recent Star Trek Films. Urban has even broken into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Skurge.
Even a galaxy far, far away isn’t safe from Urban, as the actor revealed he had a secret cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Urban spoke about the hidden role during an interview with DigitalSpy. You can check out what he had to say down below.
“I had the good fortune to go and visit J.J. Abrams while he was shooting The Rise of Skywalker. While I was there, he put me in a Stormtrooper uniform and we had a really fun day on set. It’s been one of my life-long goals to be a Stormtrooper, so I can tick that off now.”
So which Stormtrooper is he? The one that points out that Kylo’s new entourage are the Knights of Ren. I assume he is the Stormtrooper closest to us in the image below.

A galaxy far, far away. The Star Trek universe. Middle-Earth. Asgard. Urban is definitely making the rounds through cherished nerd worlds. I think many of you out there would agree that there is certainly a bigger Star Wars role out there for Urban. Jedi, Sith, bounty hunter, smuggler. I can see Urban in any of those roles. He would be a fine addition to the franchise.
