Karl Urban Teases Potential Villainous Turn For Butcher In The Boys S3

Karl Urban teases potential villainous turn for Butcher in The Boys S3. The only trailer for S3 we have so far has shown us Butcher definitely having super powers of his own. In a show where the supers are pretty much the bad guys, that does not bode well for Butcher. Billy’s rage and desire to kill Homelander, may push him to be just as bad as the man he wants to kill in the end?

In a recent interview with EW, star Karl Urban teased a possible villainous turn for Butcher.

“That’s the dilemma: does Butcher become a superhero or a super villain?” he posed. “In order to defeat the monster, do you become the monster? And I think that’s one of the cool things about this season is every character is faced with that choice. How far are they willing to go? What line are they willing to cross in order to achieve what they want to achieve? For all the characters on the show, it creates a conflict and it’s fun to see who actually ends up on whose side.”

I have never read the comics yet, because, SPOILERS. However I hear Butcher becomes more villainous in those. The thing to remember is, the story is slightly different. Butcher is so far a much more likable and even sympathetic character than he is in the comics, so the fans say anyway. Therefore, the show could decide to go a slightly different way here?

We shall have to wait and see. What do you think as Urban teases potential villainous turn for Butcher in The Boys S3? Sound off below.
