It was recently reported that director Kevin Smith met with Disney. The news sent nerds around the interwebs into a frenzy speculating on what the meeting could have been about, with most of us hoping he was there to discuss taking on a film within either the Star Wars or Marvel universes. Well, you can throw those hopes away (at least for now) because Kevin Smith himself took to his Twitter account to bring the speculation to a grinding halt. You can check out the post below
Easy to deny. The only @starwars or @MarvelStudios movies I’m involved with are the ones I pay to see in theaters. Promise. https://t.co/QmeZ4kAZOh

Well, that’s a bummer, at least for me. I think Smith has both the knowledge and the ability to produce a worthy entry into either of the franchises. Smith didn’t deny meeting with the House of Mouse, and in the tweet he did specifically say MOVIES, so perhaps he was there for talks of directing an episode of Jon Favreau’s live-action Star Wars series set to debut on Disney’s streaming service next year. Then again, it could be completely unrelated to both Marvel and Star Wars.
According to recent rumors we have heard over the last few days, there is a lot going on over at Disney, but Kevin Smith directing a film for two of the bigger film franchises in the world, doesn’t appear to part of it.
