In spite of a lukewarm second entry, Kingsman is a series that’s jumping straight into its next phase, with a prequel called The Great Game on its way next before director Matthew Vaughn closes things off with Kingsman 3. But that latter film is still a ways away, so let’s focus on the impending prequel, which has started its production in London.

UK reporter Baz Bamigboye of the Daily Mail took to Twitter to share that Vaughn would be reuniting with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the movie. Of course, the two worked together on the acclaimed Kick-Ass, which also helped launch Chloe Grace-Moretz’s career, so it makes sense that Vaughn would want to work with him again.

While the Daily Mail doesn’t necessarily have the best reputation, but Bamigboye himself has a decent track record. Plus, with Kingsman: The Great Game already in production, it seems less likely a source would be off about Taylor-Johnson’s involvement.

I’m more interested to see how this film will differentiate itself from the main series. While the main films are basically hyper-violent spy cartoons, this is rumored to be a period drama, which is pretty odd to me. But, I have enough faith in Vaughn that this will at least be entertaining…at least that’s the hope.
