Kraven The Hunter Red Band Trailer – Biggest Comedy Of The Year?

Have you seen the Kraven the Hunter red band trailer yet? You know, the one that's supposed to show why it's R-rated. Yuch!

Have you seen the Kraven the Hunter red band trailer yet? You know, the one that’s supposed to show why it’s R-rated and violent. If not here it is below and there’s a big twist. Kraven it turns out is not a gritty action movie set in the world of superheroes. Instead it’s the biggest comedy of the year. Or at least, if it’s not, we have some issues.

I guess it depends on whether you think Commando is a comedy, like I do? That’s what I see here in this trailer. I do not see any connection to Marvel, or Spider-Man, I see a generic Arnie/Sly vehicle from the late 80’s with brutal deaths and a plot built around the stunts.

How the hell Sony keep getting these big stars for these cheap-ass SSMU movies is hard to fathom. I can only assume the budget goes mostly into actors fees and they just shave that off the rest of the movies budget. This looks cheap, like Venom, and Morbius. A movie about Kraven, the third Spider-Man villain to get his own movie in a franchise with an absence of Spider-Man is, and was ill-advised. But you know Sony, the strategy is pump out garbage just to keep the Spidey licence alive whilst they soak in the praise for the work being done by Marvel Studios and their own animation dept.

I’m not sure where to start with this one. I surprisingly thought Morbius looked okay in the trailers, and in reality it was almost unwatchable. the Kraven trailers don’t even look any good. The fighting looks horrible when ATJ is suped up. Crowe sounds and acts more like the comic book version, oh and Kraven has a normal American accent. So far I don’t see one redeeming factor.

Sony would have to work hard to get me too see one of their movies anyway. However, I feel like they’re not even trying anymore. This feels like, ‘yeah, we’re making money off these low budget Spidey villain movies, so let’s just keep churning them out as quickly as we can, story be damned. You smart folks aint gonna go see it anyway, so our trailers will be more representative of what our movies are, utter crap.’

Sony, fire your producers, Pascal and Arad lost it years ago, if they ever had it. The fact the Spider-Verse movies are so good must surely be down to Pascal and Arad not bothering with the first one because it was animated. I cannot imagine these two touched it much as whatever they touch turns to cringe.

That’s what Kraven the Hunter is, and that’s what Morbius was, cringe movies. Movies where I’m actually embarrassed for the actors in them, who all clearly chose a big pay day ahead of any kind of integrity. Frankly as I’m not rich, I’d do the damn same, but Russell Crowe can’t be short of a few bucks can he?

Sony, get your live action team to a beach. Tell them all, to start walking into the sea and then run away. The ones who stopped walking and realized what was going on you can keep. However, my guess is 70% of them will just keep walking. Sony are the worst major studio in Hollywood, bar none.

Have you seen the Kraven the Hunter red band trailer yet? Is this the biggest comedy of the year or are we supposed to see this as serous? Tell me, am I missing the joke or is this genuinely what Sony just churned out? Thoughts below as always.
