Today we are sharing two Kraven the Hunter rumors. One, some rumored Calypso casting as Sony are circling an actress. Additionally some more information about Russell Crowe’s role in the movie. Both stories come from The Illuminerdi.
According to the outlet Sony are circling actress Taylour Paige (Zola) for the role of Calypso in Kraven.
We also know that Calypso is slated to be part of the film. Last summer, we heard that the film was interested in Jodie Turner-Smith bringing the Voodoo priestess to the silver screen. However, our sources have informed us that is no longer the case.
Sony Pictures is now circlingZola actress Taylour Paige to play the villainous Calypso in the upcoming Kraven The Hunter film.
Given that Calypso gives Kraven his powers, and the fact Paige’s star is on the rise, the outlet also thinks Calypso will have a sizable role in the Sony movie.

As for Russel Crowe, here is what the outlet says.
According to our sources it seems Russell Crowe may be playing Nikolai Kravinoff the father of Sergei Kravinoff, aka Kraven The Hunter, and Dmitri Smerdyakov, akaChameleon.
Now this is not the first time we have heard a rumor about Crow playing the father of Kraven and Chameleon. Only yesterday we covered another rumors about the actor cast as Chameleon. One would imagine papa Kravinoff has a decent sized role if they bothered to go after Crowe for it?
Sony seems to be batting big when it comes to Kraven, but I’m still not feeling the pull of this one. I still see Kraven as a Spider-Man villain/anti-hero. To skip the villain and go straight to the anti-hero like Venom just rubs me the wrong way I’m afraid. Hopefully Sony can actually get a Spider-Man in this universe now Garfield seems willing?
