Asked about the many rumors, kinda started by us here at LRM, Lars Mikkelsen claims he’s had no offer to play a live-action Thrawn in Ahsoka. However what we cannot say for certain with actors these days is whether they are telling the truth or not? In times gone past if Mikkelsen says he’s not been asked to play Thrawn in live-action that would be it. Rumor would be debunked by a tier 1 source.
The issue these days, is we have various examples where actors have been told to lie by the studios. Therefore actors are expected and encouraged to do so. What we can say for definite is that all the rumors and leaks from Ahsoka say that Thrawn will appear, even if only briefly. Yet the only rumored name we have as Mikkelsen. Initially we reported Mikkelsen was definitely playing the live-action Thrawn Here. However since then we found out our information was wrong when it came to the Ezra actor. More recently our source has been a little spooked and so we’ve had no updates to clarify if they still stick by their Mikkelsen claim.

However there have been other sources saying they had also started to hear Mikkelsen’s name being mentioned. Therefore, this one is a bit up in the air. If you’ve read this all, then you’re as caught up as I am. So let’s see what Mikkelsen said most recently.
Lars was interviewed by Express.co.uk recently and asked if he was aware of the rumors and fan campaign for him to play the live-action Thrawn. He said he was aware of it and then said this when asked if he would do it?
“Well, I haven’t had the offer. But, yes, sure.”
Just for context remember that Liam Neeson said the same thing whilst already knowing he was doing a cameo as Qui-Gon Jinn in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now, that’s not to say I’m doubling down on what we originally said. I have currently no reason to doubt Mikkelson is playing Thrawn, but at the same time I have no new information to back that up either.
