Charlie Hunnam and Mel Gibson in Last Looks
Last Looks film has the making of a great mystery comedy.
The film has an all-star cast, a noir detective feel, absurd over-the-top comedy, and Mel Gibson in an outrageous performance. What more can you ask for?
The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Morena Baccarin, Lucy Fry, Dominic Monaghan, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Clancy Brown with Rupert Friend, and Mel Gibson. Tim Kirkby directed the movie from the script written by Howard Michael Gould.
Here is the official synopsis for Last Looks:
Charlie Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) is an ex-LAPD superstar who left the force and now lives a life of simplicity and solitude deep in the woods. Alistair Pinch (Mel Gibson) is an eccentric actor who spends his days drunk on the set of his TV show. When Pinch’s wife is found dead, he is the prime suspect and Waldo is convinced to come out of retirement to investigate what happened. The case finds Waldo contending with gangsters, Hollywood executives, and pre-school teachers, all in pursuit of clearing Pinch’s name or confirming his guilt.
“Growing up in suburban England, I was mesmerized watching Los Angeles & Hollywood through the lens of 1970s American detective films and TV shows, and in particular fascinated by the flawed, lead characters—the antihero with no future,” said director Tim Kirkby in a statement. “I wanted Last Looks to feel like a singular detective tale about one man’s journey accompanied by his tortured soul against the system that lets him down.”
Last Looks will be in select theaters, On Demand, and available digitally on February 4.
