The latest Marvel rumors say there’s no Doctor Doom planned for Secret Wars plus lots more of Marvel based Barside Buzz. respected insider Charles Murphy did an AMA on twitter and many of his responses to questions were intriguing. I won’t list a link for every single question answered. However, here is the first one if you want to follow the thread for yourself.
Let’s start with Cap 4.
“I think right now Cap 4 is the only 2024 movie on track to actually make 2024 unless the strikes end quickly. The actual release dates that have already been carved out, I’d say those are totally meaningless. So much will move that any dates are possible.”

Answering what he thought of the recent Quinn an Kirby Fantastic Four rumors, Murphy said; “I’m not confident in anything happening right now. Stuff is more fluid than ever. I’ll believe it when I see the movie and they’re in it. That’s how I feel.”
The rumored Silver Surfer project: “I know that was a rumor but my guess is a lot of stuff that may have been true a year or 6 months ago is no longer true.”
Thunderbolts: “Sentry is ridiculously more powerful than anyone he’s up against in the Thundberbolts. I’ve been told they’re going the full suite of powers he has in the comics.” However when asked if he was excited for the movie, Murphy said, “not even a little bit”.
Secret Wars And More
Now onto Secret Wars and a piece of news that if true, will be controversial.
“It sure seems like they will be doing Secret Wars without Doom”.
“The symbiote at the end of NWH is a set up for Secret Wars.”
Murphy then goes on to say he’s not heard anything about Secret Wars getting split into Part 1 and Part 2.
Now some more random answers Murphy gave which also amount to pretty much what he knows about current Marvel projects and rumors.
Murphy would not be surprised if Nova special is cancelled, as a lot was.

Murphy says multiple heralds were set to appear in previous version of Fantastic Four script. However, he knows nothihng about the most recent version by Josh Friedman. Murphy has also heard Deadpool 3 won’t actually be called that (a rumor we’ve shared here before). There will be an incursion event in The Marvels and Secret Invasion‘s ending will be briefly discussed. The Secret Invasion loose threads will be tied up in Captain America: Brave New World. Oh and Brave New World is from what he’s heard the project he is most excited by.
Murphy also says there will be no Wanda in any projects this year or next year, partly because they haven’t figured out a story for the character yet. Finally, Murphy says he hasn’t heard a peep about Captain Britain and that what he has heard about Doctor Strange 3 has his excitement level at 7 or 8. So, some intriguing rumors there. However, perhaps the most important note here is that Doom is not set to be a part of Secret Wars. I think most of us fans assumed that Doom would begin to take a more prominent role from that movie onward. Hopefully this ends up not being the case. It is clear Marvel is adapting the most recent version of Secret Wars, which is less Doom centric. However, I still thought he’d show up as a threat in that movie.
