Legends Of Tomorrow To Crossover With Itself This Season

This coming holiday season, the Arrowverse will be getting an ambitious crossover storyline (as it does every year) that looks to introduce the character of Batwoman. However, as exciting as it is every year when all these stories meld into one another, you may have noticed one thing — it’s just three hours of content, not four. This means that one show is being left out of all the fun, and that show is none other than Legends of Tomorrow.

That’s right, while the likes of The Flash, Green Arrow, and Supergirl are all rubbing elbows with a Gotham City vigilante, the Legends will be left to their own devices, but don’t think they’ll have NOTHING to offer that week. Speaking with TVLine, Legends of Tomorrow showrunner revealed that they will be having a crossover of their — or a crossover of sorts.

“During the week that all the other crossovers are happening, we will essentially be crossing over with ourselves.”

Wait, what? How does one have a crossover with themselves? Well, Doctor Who fans may hop in with a few suggestions, and if you’re one of those fans, you’re actually on the right track, as it looks like the episode will traverse “alternate time periods.”

“That particular episode is insane,” Legends lead Caity Lotz told the outlet. “I think they wanted to do something special since we weren’t going to be doing the [‘Elseworlds’] crossovers.”

Sadly, there are no further details about what to expect, but I think it’s actually a good move. Better to make a story that naturally fits into three shows than try to cram it into a fourth — especially if that fourth comes with more than its fair share of supers to bring into the mix. While I’ve long since been off the Legends of Tomorrow bandwagon, I do like the idea of them taking advantage of their time travel element to create a fun crossover.

What do you think of this? Will this get you amped to check out their episode as the others cross over in a bigger way? Let us know down below!
