While 2019 may very well be considered the year streaming services went just a tad bit too far, one company that seems to be heading in the right direction is Disney. Rather than just rely on Disney-branded content to help drive the upcoming streaming service, they will be leveraging their Star Wars and Marvel Studios brands.

One series that’s been confirmed for some time is Loki. Star Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as the god of mischief, though other details regarding the series remain closely guarded. The only other rumor we have to go off of is that it will follow the character when he is much younger, and that Hiddleston will only be serving as a narrator. Now, a new rumor from THR points to another plot detail:

That the show will “follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.”

That’s actually pretty cool and feels a bit like the great poems of Homer and how it followed the gods influencing human history.

But that’s not all. The outlet also states that Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron will be serving as series creator and executive producer. Additionally, he will also serve as the writer for the pilot episode.

What do you think of this new development? Do you think he’s a good fit for Loki? And do you like the idea of following him as he influences human history? Let us know your thoughts down below!
