Loki Set Up No Way Home And Multiverse Of Madness Confirms Kevin Feige

According to the latest Barside Buzz, He Who Remains will return in Loki Season 2.

Fans have wondered for some time if Loki set up No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness? Well now we have confirmation from Kevin Feige that this is indeed the case. If you remember Loki‘s finale, Sylvie made a decision. Sylvie chose the madness of the Multiverse by killing He Who Remains. This means HWR was no longer there to use his TVA to prune certain timelines.

As Feige confirmed at the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Red Carpet event to ComicBook.com, this was what allowed a chain of events to begin.

“You know, there’s always a method to the madness even at the multiverse and to the Marvel.com fans who know that Loki and Sylvie did something at the end of that series that sort of allowed all of this to be possible,” Feige said. “He Who Remains is gone and that allowed a spell to go wrong in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which leads to the entire multiverse going quite mad.”

Perhaps if Sylvie chose differently? Maybe the TVA would have been sent in to stop Strange from performing that spell and prune him? This would have left Peter Parker both famous and unhappy. However it would also have prevented the Multiverse form cracking open. Equally perhaps in the original timeline He Who Remains deals with Wanda and prunes her to stop her getting the Darkhold from Agnes?

It’s all a little complicated. However, I love that Loki and Sylvie’s story is what ignites this entire Multiversal plot Marvel are doing. One fallout we have yet to see in the MCU is who takes over from He Who Remains. We know that character, or one variant will become Kang the Conqueror and he is next due to appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Which, by the way has now moved ahead of The Marvels on Marvel’s slate for next year.

Quantumania will now release on February 17th, the date The Marvels originally had. The Marvels now takes Ant-Man‘s date of July 28th. This swap was done for the very practical reason that one film was further ahead than the other.

So Loki set up No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness confirms Kevin Feige? As always, leave any thoughts below or on Discord.
