Lost Ladies | Kiran Rao on Indian Feminism and Mistaken Identity Comedy

Lost Ladies

People can disappear without a trace in an era without cell phones, public cameras, and Internet access. The Indian mistaken identity comedy Lost Ladies is a laugh-out-loud film as two married women accidentally switch on a train and try to get back to their husbands.

Here is the official synopsis for Lost Ladies:

Set in 2001, somewhere in rural India, Los Ladies is about the delightful adventures of two young brides who get accidentally swapped on a train. In the ensuing chaos they each encounter a host of colorful characters, resulting in hilarious and unexpected consequences.

The young lost ladies must take it upon themselves to venture on an endearing journey: one of immense discovery about themselves and womanhood; and the heartwarming and heartbreaking nature of life itself.

The cast includes Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan, and Chhaya Kadam. Kiran Rao directed the film from the screenplay by Sneha Desai and the original story by Biplab Goswami.
