LRMOnline Presents: DC Weekly | DC Weekly

Although their films have not been so well received, DC Entertainment has a good presence in television, comics and lately their own streaming service. In television, we have Supergirl, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, The Fash, Black Lightning, and Gotham. While on their streaming service we have the well-received Titans series. In films, we are very close to the release of Aquaman in December. Then later we have SHAZAM!, Wonder Woman 1984 and in the works Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad 2. Over on the comic book side, we have Brian Michael Bendis on Superman, Tom King on Batman and this past week now have Grant Morrison on Green Lantern.

To keep us up to date with all DC news DC Universe provides us with DC Daily, show that they release Monday through Friday that gives us the rundown on all DC news which covers everything from television, film, comics and video games. For some even keeping up with that may be a challenge. So what we are going to do here is to try and summarize most if not all the DC news for the week.

Starting this week, every Friday we are going to quickly summarize all the headlines that are DC related. This will cover all the news from Monday through Thursday as the latest episode of DC Daily will not be available by the time our weekly piece is posted on the site. At the end of each summary, there will also be a quick top five DC comic books to make sure and pick up. This way we hope to try and help out our fellow DC fans up to date with everything going on in the DC Universe. As a preview here is a look at the news from last week November 5th through the 9th.

Last Monday, there was a lot of casting news that came out of DC Entertainment. First, we learned that Jamie Murray will be joining the cast of FOX’s Gotham as Theresa Walker a villain with a dark past set to go up against Jim Gordon. Out of the DC Universe, we have Virginia Madsen joining the cast of Swamp Thing as an original character created for the series Maria Sunderland. Also, Stargirl has cast Anjelika Washington in a role that is currently being kept under wraps.

Also, this week marks the 30th anniversary since the release of the first issue of Hellblazer.

Wednesday did not have too much news although we found out which two actors would be playing the lead role of Swamp Thing. On Thursday Warner Bros. released 7 character posters for the upcoming Aquaman film. Also, it was revealed that yet another classic character will be featured in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover Elseworlds.
