Lucasfilm To Release Series Of Mandalorian Tie-In Books

Get ready for some Mandalorian tie-in books!

While Lucasfilm was undoubtedly hoping for a hit with The Mandalorian, it may have hit even better than they previously thought possible. The Child took off as an entity in and of itself, and fans clearly took to the story. This prompted them to start creating an entire connected world of streaming series — which we revealed a couple of weeks back. But you didn’t think Lucasfilm could have forgotten about direct multimedia tie-ins to the show. More specifically, I’m talking about books.

StarWars.com has revealed that Lucasfilm will be rolling out a new publishing program dedicated to The Mandalorian. As with all Star Wars publishing programs, it will appeal to readers of all ages. In perfect tandem with the release of The Mandalorian Season 2, the program will start this fall and will continue releases through the spring. First up on the docket is The Art of The Mandalorian (Season One). As indicated by the title, you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be future art books.

It won’t end there. Here is a list of confirmed books.

  • The Art of The Mandalorian (Season One) by Phil Szostak; cover by Doug Chiang
  • The Mandalorian: Original Novel (adult novel, Del Rey) by Adam Christopher
  • The Mandalorian: The Ultimate Visual Guide (DK) by Pablo Hidalgo
  • The Mandalorian: Allies & Enemies – Level Two Reader (DLP) by Brooke Vitale
  • The Mandalorian: 8×8 Storybook (title to be revealed later) by Brooke Vitale
  • The Mandalorian: Junior Novelization by Joe Schreiber

If the serious lack of comics is disturbing to you, there will be some coming from Marvel and IDW. And there will be magazine, novelty, and color and activity titles from other various partners. In short, in the months to come, you won’t be wanting for plenty of other content to salivate over.

What do you think of this new publishing program from Lucasfilm? Are you happy to see The Mandalorian getting expanded on in other mediums? Let us know your thoughts down below!
