While Iron Fist and The Defenders may not have been the best-received Netflix Marvel series, one positive to come out of it was the Luke Cage/Danny Rand dynamic. We got glimpses of seeing the two work together, and there were plenty of fans who were hoping that this would mean the beginnings of Heroes for Hire — the business that the pair opens up together in the comics.

It looks like Luke Cage Season 2 will be bringing that dream just a little bit closer to reality. Of course, the new season will bring back Mike Colter as the titular hero, but it’ll also see the return of Simon Missick as Misty Knight, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and of course, little Finn Jones as Danny Rand (aka the Iron Fist).

While we don’t know just how extensive Danny’s role in the new season, Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker said that, “Danny helps Luke channel is chi.” Great! Luke has always been a hero of brute force. Giving him extra skills like this will go a long way to leveling him up for whatever threat is on the way in Season 2.

My only question is whether or not Danny is cool and collected enough to be a good teacher. As was proven in both Iron Fist and The Defenders, he’s not the smartest person and is prone to aggravation. Perhaps he’ll be getting just a little bit closer to not being super annoying. Maybe.
