Not long ago fans of Showtime‘s Dexter were pleased to hear the news of the series being brought back for a 10-episode season. Director Marcos Siega will return to direct more than half of the upcoming revival. He also has his name attached to a number of episodes of the show’s original run.
The series is said to be set a decade after we fans saw Dexter Morgan end up in what appeared to be the pacific northwest working as a lumberjack. As another great television show once said (LOST) Whatever happened, happened. And what’s done is done. The revival will not undo the mediocre at best finale from 2014, however, fans will get a different ending for one of the more unusual protagonists to ever be on television.

I loved Dexter and still do love the majority of it. While some fans say Season 5 is where the decline began, I enjoyed the show up until Season 7. Beginning with that season, it almost became a chore to watch. Though not anywhere near the level of The Walking Dead, but it felt slightly more like an obligation than a pleasure.
Production is believed to begin around the first of the year, with a premiere next fall.
